Cole, Rihanna and Kanye West among its “owners.” According to the Wall Street Journal , Apple is conducting “exploratory talks” about purchasing their competitor. Lost in all the commotion is that a TIDAL spokesman already denied that any talk have occurred. However, Apple declining to comment, for now, won’t help conspiracy theories, or general chatter about another W for Hova. According to Havoc, Prince walked into his session with a mutual acquaintance when he was working on a beat. Star struck, he asked the legend if the beat was missing anything. That’s when he says the iconic musician hopped on the keys and went to work. He says: “I was making the beat, and then I was like ‘Holy sh*t, Prince.’ Then, I was like ‘Is there anything I need to do to the beat?’ He was like ‘Hold on’ and then he got on the keyboard and just started…He was that cool.” According to Havoc, Prince just left when he was done and never sweated the group about compensation. He was arrested on his way to perform at a concert in France in early-June when police were acting on warrant based on a woman saying that Gibbs raped her back in 2015. Gibbs has since made bail and was released, but he is still facing extradition to Austria to plead his case in court. The title New English is definitely appropriate because he is rapping in a language that is not too familiar. While he does a great job at transferring his energy from the booth, through the speakers and into your ears, you are really going to have to listen hard to catch most of what he’s saying. While Desiigner  does still sound like Future on some of the songs, he does let another side of his voice and flow shine on songs like “Make It Out” “Da Day,” proving that he doesn’t have to sound like Future if he doesn’t want to. Watch The Roots, Erykah Badu and especially Bilal put on a show for the Purple one.  BET made sure the people performing in the Prince tribute did songs that played to their strengths and the artist made sure they kept the show about Prince and not about them. Badu ‘s laid-back and funky rendition of “The Ballad of Dorothy Parker” did the song justice. But Bilal , perhaps the closest singer to Prince’s range, did a tear-jerking rendition of “The Beautiful Ones” that made you feel like Prince himself took over his body and came back to life.
