Drake vs. Meek Mill: Heat Check

So now that Drake and Meek Mill are battling we have to analyze this situation:

What's Beef?
So one place we can go to truly categorize beef is Diddy...?

More clearly we can travel back to the Biggie/Pac days to determine whether we have something worth listening to or if this is some 'beef' that simply is not worth following and Diddy is a pioneer that was certainly in the middle of the Biggie/Pac beef.



So what is beef?

Beef is a genuine argument between two rappers that matter.

Here, Drake is at the top of the game and Meek Mill is certainly trending.  Both could be placed in anyone's 'Top 5 Right Now' list without much disagreement and Meek had a genuine issue with Drake: He doubts that Drake writes his own rhymes.

Believe it or not people we may have 'beef'.

One factor that will certainly make this 'battle' more amusing/entertaining/interesting is Mrs. Nicki Minaj Mill.  She is the Faith Evans of our modern drama yet she has bars...?

Will Meek be seen as weaker if Nicki drops a diss track that is hotter than Drake's or Meek's?

Then again, we have Lil' Wayne whom is all about the money therefore how would a battle between two Young Money artists benefit Young Money?

The three involved have the utmost respect for Lil' Wayne therefore he may be able to ensure that this issue expires sooner than later.

I'm Goin In
Another element to consider is whether 2Pac and Biggie would approve of this battle.  Of course they would not want to see the game take any additional lives, yet hip-hop was built on battle rap and it remains entertaining when done correctly.

It is clear that Pac would be on Meek's side whereas Biggie would ride with Drizzy.



Pac would tear Drake's authenticity apart while Biggie would laugh at the way in which Meek makes everything a big deal.

A Million Dollar N****
If Biggie did not make it clear enough for all of the young rappers that have followed his footsteps....

"I wanna be an entrepreneur...I wanna be a million dollar n****!"

Entrepreneurs do not beef, they come together and create classic like RICO.  While it is wonderful to look back and compare old 'beef' to new 'beef' we have to consider what we have learned from our past mistakes.

Drizzy had it right in Charged Up: Why would two of the most successful rappers in the game waste their time beefin when cops are killin us while we have our hands up?
